The idea behind memberships, is to give large discounts to customers who decide to be loyal with TPHTA for all their electronic needs.  Once a member, a small monthly fee unlocks large discounts on services and equipment as well as a host of other benefits.

If you are not a member and you have your computer repaired in the shop, your service fee labor will often apply, in part, towards the Initiation Fees.  Since there are no contractual obligations on the part of the customer, the start-up fees are in place to prevent people from regularly joining and then quitting again in order to receive large discounts without really being a member.
